A Little Note To Say...
We would like to take this oppurtunity to say a MASSIVE Thank You to ALL that have taken the time to visit us.
We are fast approaching a year old now (27th November) and we cannot wait to celebrate with those of you that can make it.
It has been a VERY hard slog to be honest with you, much harder than we thought. People have been coming to us from day one, and the arcade has pretty much been gaining popularity each day we open. However we have our work cut out keeping the machines working. This is largely down to the fact that we are running them for longer than they were running 15-20 years ago! Don't forget that Public Houses closed in the afternoons!
Regular servicing takes place and every machine undergoes an 'MOT' style test every 6 months. On this cycle we will strip the machine and check the board, the ram, clean the mech, clean the reels and polish all areas of the machine inside and out.
Before we opened our doors we really thought that we were the only people who enjoyed the older machines. It is fantastic to see that MANY people love the classic games, and it is so refreshing to see and hear people enjoying Fruit Machines once again.
We have operated the higher stake machines in the past, and those of you who have met us will know that we are not driven by money, but by passion for the classic machines. This is the reason why we left the modern arcade arena as (in our opinion) the higher stake and Jackpot have now extracted virtually all amusement from the machines manufactured today. Modern machines are all designed to be about money. We believe that it is far more thrilling to get 5/6 holds or repeats on a low stake, low jackpot machine, than piling loads of money into a new machine for a bigger jackpot with little gameplay.
As most of you know, we also enjoy playing machines. We are not permitted to play ANY of the machines in the arcade, as are ANY staff, but on our days off we often travel looking for golden oldies to play!
We are 100% comitted to you guys, and those who enter a stranger leave as a friend.
We love you all, and wish you all well.
In the meantime, a BIG Thank You for all of your support, and we hope to see you all soon.
Dave & Amelia
